Social Media For The Beauty Specialist

Erika Venter

DIY Marketing with Erika Venter

Who is Erika Venter?

Erika is a multi-passionate entrepreneur, passionately curious about life.

I was introduced to social media in 2008 by a young co-worker who showed me how Facebook works. He showed me how people poked each other and that was the silliest waste of time I ever saw; a lot has changed since then, and I grew with the social networks as they developed.

For the past 25 years I have been doing tele-sales, marketing start-up businesses before social media, event organizing, sport events and then ventured into social media marketing as I grew with it. I was the marketer for Griquas Rugby when I decided to start my own marketing company in 2012 with two clients.

In 2014 I decided to open a laundry after my previous laundry moved around faster than Google could keep track of their movement. The laundry taught me a great deal of business lessons and it was also with the laundry that I learned so much of Google My Business. (Google Business Profile) Google My Business(Google Business Profile) has helped me to put my laundry on the map and to direct people to my business. Managing our listing also helps us to dominate local search.

Towards the end of 2016 my husband accepted a position in Christiana on a farm and I now live 120 km from my business. I now focus more on the admin and on my marketing consultancy and course creation.

I am thankful for the opportunities I had to grow and learn during the first hard lockdown of 2020. During the lockdown I saw the opportunity to teach other business owners to market their business using their smartphone. I’ve put together a number of short courses under the umbrella of DIY Marketing with Erika Venter, in my courses I teach business owners over 35 to overcome their fear of technology and market their businesses from their smart phones.

Do not be intimidated by technology, your business can benefit by applying new marketing knowledge and technology on the social networks and on-line. I can help you navigate through this rabbit hole.

I’ll take you from getting your business online and creating the relevant social media profiles to formulating and implementing a content and marketing strategy for your business, while equipping you to use easy to master tools on your smartphone.

25 Years of experience as marketer and a passion for entrepreneurship combined with the technical know how of the social networks works, makes Erika Venter the go to person in this niche. Let me show you how to use the right tools for the job without making it look like a typical DIY job. Who knows your business better than you?

Why would you get someone who does not know and care about your business to speak and act on behalf of you? Your customers want to hear from you. The most influential businessmen of our times make their own announcements. Why shouldn’t you?

Look at Elon Musk; he announces all his latest innovations himself. Richard Branson is the face of VIRGIN Group. The late Steve Jobs announced all their new products. You had the passion to start your business, you can pour that same energy into marketing your business. Erika Venter is an entrepreneur from Kimberley, she owns a laundry and a marketing consultancy.

After moving to a farm 130 km from Kimberley, 5 years ago she started working and moving her business online. Erika consults with small and large businesses across South Africa. She is a solution seeker and strategist and will find a way to take your business to the next level.

During the 2020 lockdown she put together an online course to help business owners overcome their fear of technology and to market their business from their smart phones. As a High Value Ambassador for Vodacom Shops in Kimberley Erika get to test the latest technology and solutions from Vodacom and introduces it to her contacts.
